Mini Dragon
I finally got a chance to go out and just drive today. Went on a 175mile round trip through farm country. My goal was a road I have read about on some motorcycle forums Rt. 51.
I headed out on NY Rt. 20 west from Duanesburg to Winfield. A very nice drive with no traffic but relatively straight. Great views of rolling hills and farms make up for the road. Around Winfield I headed north on Rt. 51 towards the Town of Ilion. Road starts out as a two lane till you reach an intersection near the Cedarville Fire Dept. Continue on Rt.51 north from here and the fun begins. I can only decribe it as a mini Tail of The Dragon. 6.5 miles of some very nice twisting and flowing road that follows
a large stream north to the Town of Ilion. At the north end there is a motorcycle shop Bowen's Powersports.
If you are ever in this part of the Mohawk Valley it is worth a side trip.
