Country Roads Covered Bridges

Today my family and I went for a drive in the country. As Sally from the movie Cars said "Cars didn't drive on it to make great time. They drove on it to have a great time.". In the morning we packed a picnic lunch and printed some maps of where we wanted to go. We were headed for three covered bridges in Buskirk, NY, Shushan, NY, and Arlington, VT. We took the Mitsubishi Evolution. Our trip consisted of two lane paved and even some dirt roads in the hills of Washington County. We had a great time just checking out the land and the bridges. The kids liked seeing some combine harvesters in operation. The roads were fun to drive and not too crowded so we were able to drive at our own pace. In Arlington, VT we found a nice picnic spot right next to the final bridge on our route. next time you're looking for a family activity on for the weekend, take a drive and see what you find. Sometimes it is nice to take the long way to your destination.
